This page contains general information on the following IVOA Theory Interest Group projects :
  * SNAP : Simple Numerical Data Access Protocol : this project is now closed and has been split in SimDB & SimDAP projects
  * SimDB  : Simulation Database Model Specifications
  * SimDAP : Simulation Data Access Protocol

*This project started in march 2008 and is still in progress.*


*This content was presented and discussed during IVOA InterOp meetings :*
  * 19-23 May 2008: Stazione Marittima, Trieste, ITALY.
  * 26-31 October, 2008: Baltimore, Maryland, USA.


The main authors are :

  * Gerard Lemson (EuroVO TIG Chair, GAVO, garching, Germany)
  * Claudio Gheller (CINECA, Itealy)
  * Rick Wagner (CADAC, USA)
  * Laurent Bourgès (EuroVO DCA Project, VOParis, France) till 01/2009


The project is composed by two parts :
  * SimDB  : Leaded by Gerard Lemson (mpe.de) : UML Data Model & XSLT pipeline (html, xml schema, java code)
  * SimDAP : Leaded by Claudio Gheller (inaf.it) : Data Access protocol for web applications using SimDB databases & XML documents.
